Our oregano comes from the plants of the Pieria Mountains of Western Macedonia, on the side of Lake Polyfytos (slopes of Agia Kyriaki) and you grow our own farms, which grow in the same area.
It is distinguished by its color, its pepper taste and its rich and special aroma. In order to retain its penetrating fragrance and its beautiful green color, dry it in our specially designed areas in a cool place away from the sun so that it will not fade.
Oregano is the emblem of Greek cuisine and tends to conquer the International Market.
With its spicy taste it blends perfectly with the extra virgin olive oil and lemon and blends well with Thyme, Thymus citriodorus, Marjoram, and Rosemary.
Oregano gives its aroma to all roasts, soups, meats, fish, oils, olives, vinegar, salads and pickles.
It combines very well with Thyme, Thyme Citriodorus and Rosemary.
It can also be used as a drink with the addition of a little honey.
It has been recognized for many years as a "functional food" for its antioxidant properties and prevention in many diseases. Herbalists and scientists have shown that oregano with its spicy taste has many more and useful properties.
Oregano is a good source of fiber and is therefore used in high-fiber diets, which scientists say reduce high cholesterol levels and the risk of colon cancer.
It has soothing and spasmolytic effects on muscle aches and lung diseases and is particularly useful in chronic bronchitis, pertussis, tuberculosis and asthma.
